12 Most Clever Twitter Tools

12 Most Clever Twitter Tools

There are a multitude of websites to enhance your Twitter experience. In listing these, it is not a personal endorsement to game or be disingenuous. It is not recommended that you spend hours analyzing your personal Twitter stats, that being said it can be fun, interesting and informative.

1. Triberr “Multiply Your Blog Reach”

Triberr is in Beta but wow is it great so far! With an invite to Triberr, you are in four tribes: a member of one tribe and leader of three. When you post to your blog, you blog is automatically sent out by all your tribe members. Also, your tribe’s blog posts are automatically sent out from your Twitter account which creates fabulous content for you however; be aware of what your tribe mate’s are tweeting and that it aligned with what you feel is appropriate to tweet. There are setting that you can adjust so that blogs are not automatically sent. This is a dynamic blog tool and the customer service from the @triberr is fabulous.

2. Tweepi “Make Sense of Your Twitter Account”

In the free version of Tweepi, users have the ability to manage their twitter via flush, reciprocate or clean up your followers. Also available are ways to procure new followers: follow followers, follow friends and follow list. This tool allows you to follow people who are not following you or unfollow tweeters who do not follow you back. At some point you need to create some follow/follow back persona for yourself, this helps you implement it easily.

3. SnapBird “Search beyond Twitter’s History”

Snapbird allows you to go back through your own twitter timeline and view tweets via timeline. Also available are tweets mentioning you as well as the ability to search for a conversation between you and another tweeter. The ability to search through someone’s favorites is also a nice feature.

4. Friend or Follow

Friend or Follow is great. Pop in your twitter user name and get data on who is not following you back and who are you not following back. There are three tabs: following, fans and friends. The twitter account information pops ups as the avatar and you mouse over for the details on the account. The graphic, visual design is nice here, being able to see the avatar can produce a visual memory of a Twitter conversation with the tweeter.

5. Formulists “We Form Your Lists”

Formulists gives you the ability to “organize, manage and expand your Twitter community through smart Twitter lists.” The more people you follow, the harder is it to keep track of people and what is being tweeted; creating focused lists presents small chunks of tweets to follow. Formulist presents your twitter goals: organize your network, expand your network, track followers, strengthen your social ties or customize existing lists. A great way for new tweeters to get the hang of lists. Again, @formulists staff are very active on Twitter and are happy to answer questions.

6. Crowdbooster “Measure and Optimize Your Social Media Marketing.”

Crowdbooster reports are generated and information on impressions per tweet, follower growth, influential followers and top retweeters is presented. It also gives recommendations for when to tweet so that you can reach the most people that follow you, this is great information for bloggers or people with a chat that are trying to promote. For example, this tweet got some interesting information:

Peggy Fitzpatrick: Trendsetters!! @PaulBiedermann @stevebomford BTW — #UsGuys has been using +1 for several months now and way before Google started doing it!
stats: 3 Retweets, 0 Replies, 15,846 Impressions

Crowdbooster is in beta so you may need an invite, if you are interested tweet @crowdbooster to get on their waiting list or ask questions.

7. TweetPysch

TweetPysch is like the pop psychology of your tweets. Created by Dan Zarrella this is what the website says “TweetPsych lists creates a psychological profile of any public Twitter account and compares it to the thousands already in the database. This identifies those traits that are used more or less frequently by the user analyzed.” A TweetPsych report is a bar graph report with twenty two categories such as positive, emotion, money, anxiety etc. Interestingly, some folk’s feel this is right on the money, others feel it is not.

8. Tweet Grader “How Influential Are You on Twitter?”

Tweet Grader ranks the 9,765,941 Twitter users (as of June 19, 2011) and gives a grade out of 100. The ability to tweet a report or preview yourself online. Also states when you started tweeting and who else began tweeting on the same day.

9. Tweet Cloud “What’s Being Said?

Using a keyword, hashtag or user name, a search is created and a tweet cloud is formed with the most common words in alphabetical order. It is like a diary of Twitter activity and who you tweet the most. My best twitter buddies names are largest and the words that I most frequently tweet are highlighted: great, love, hey, hope, love and thanks are a few. Can be used to monitor and make sure you presenting yourself the way you’d like the Twitterverse to view you.

10. Tweet Reach “How Far Did Your Tweet Travel”

More stats for tweet geeks! Tweet Reach imparts the ability to search by url, Twitter name, phrase or hashtag. The report is presented with a pie chart of tweet types, a pie chart of exposure, impressions contributed by Twitterers and the last tweets available. Great for a chat or hashtag. This information fluctuates and it is important to take screen shots during a chat to portray the highest level of activity.

11. Twitalyzer “Serious Analytics for Social Business”

Twitalyzer enter a Twitter username and click “Twitalyze” to get a report that includes Impact Score and Influencer Type and the top members of your network in Twitter. From Twitalyzer “Twitalyzer’s Summary provides a high-level overview of an individual’s use of Twitter, their network, and the topics they are most interested in. Twitalyzer lists five types of influencers based upon @lisabarone’s work: everyday user, reporter, social butterfly, trendsetter and thought leaders.

12. Hashable

Hashable is a tool that helps you track your connections in an easy and fun way via their website, the app, email or Twitter itself. Track lunch meetings, appointments or just give props to your friends. Introductions are a snap using this application and one of the best features is that you do not have to remember their whole name, Hashable will search for you. Consider an address book/calendar that you can update on the go. Hashable has a new beta app out for the iPhone and using it has made me an ever bigger fan. Again, great Twitter customer service via @hashable.
